Carbon credit market grows in the Paragominas region

"In a conversation with CNN, forestry engineer Janaina Dallan, our Co-CEO, said that Brazil needs to show concrete actions to combat climate change.

Forest engineer and one of the experts of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Janaina Dallan said in an interview with CNN on Thursday (22) that 'Brazil's global climate agenda is far behind that of other countries.

'We need to see concrete actions for actions like eliminating deforestation in the Amazon to happen so that we can fit into this agenda again,' Dallan said. 'Brazil needs to resume this leadership that it has always had in climate negotiations, show it to other countries, and actually act in a way that proves this willingness to resume,' she added."

Brazil's climate agenda is long overdue

Janaína Dallan, our Co-CEO, gave an interview to ISTOÉ Dinheiro about Brazil's situation at COP-26, which starts at the end of this month.

"From October 31 to November 12, world leaders will gather in Glasgow, Scotland, for the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference. At the top of the agenda, the negotiations of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement that deals with the creation of an international cooperation mechanism for the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions and support for sustainable development. With a clean energy matrix and with 67% of the world's tropical forests in its territory, Brazil could dictate the rules of discussion, but lost this role by adopting a negative attitude and recording deforestation records. For Janaína Dallan, president of the Brazilian Alliance for Nature-Based Solutions, the country will arrive at COP-26 without anyone knowing what to expect from its authorities. "The promise of the minister [Joaquim Lopes] is that Brazil will cooperate to the negotiations, but it is necessary to see if the government will do what it said. It's difficult.""

Our Co-CEOs attended COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland. There, Janaina Dallan participated in the panel "Futures Lab" to talk about carbon removal.

In this panel a future was imagined where, in parallel with rapid reductions, we are removing CO2 from the air on a scale needed to reach zero in an effective, affordable, and equitable way and begin to reverse climate change.

The Senate may still approve in the first semester the long-awaited and necessary regulation for the carbon market. Senators talk about the economic advantages of the carbon credit market and its importance in the fight against deforestation.

Besides being educational, the report includes interviews with our Co-CEO and experts such as Eugênio Pantoja (director of the Amazon Environmental Research Institute - IPAM), Ariaster Chimelli (economist and professor at USP) and Davi Bontempo (CNI). 

Carbonext is presented as one of the companies that develop carbon projects in the Amazon and Janaina Dallan explains how the projects are developed, how the forest area is protected and the positive impacts for local communities. 

"We do projects for nature-based solutions, that is, projects that protect the forest or that will reforest degraded areas. These are areas that are under threat of deforestation, areas on the soybean frontier, areas that have many legal or illegal logging companies around them, that have roads, that have a constant pressure on the forest and we, with these projects, protect this area. We don't allow burnings, invasions, wood removal and everything that can generate this deforestation to occur, and this deforestation, generally, turns into greenhouse gas emissions". Janaina said.

The final text explicitly points to coal, which is the single largest contributor to climate change. In all 25 previous COPs, never had an agreement mentioned coal, oil or gas, or even fossil fuels in general, as drivers - let alone the main cause - of the climate crisis."

COP26 approves agreement for the reduction of fossil fuels on the planet

# TERMOS E CONDIÇÕES GERAIS DO SITE – CARBONEXT

Estes Termos e condições aplicam-se ao uso dos serviços oferecidos por CARBONEXT TECNOLOGIA EM SOLUÇÕES AMBIENTAIS LTDA, sociedade limitada, inscrita no CNPJ/ME sob o nº 12.028.178/0001-20, com sede na Rua do Rócio, nº 220, Conj. 21, Vila Olímpia, CEP: 04552-000, na cidade de São Paulo, Estado de São Paulo, denominada “CARBONEXT”. Antes de utilizar quaisquer dos serviços disponibilizados, o usuário afirma ter lido, entendido e aceitado todas as condições estabelecidas nestes Termos e condições da Carbonext (“Termos e Condições”), bem como os Termos e condições gerais do uso do site.

## OBJETO

1.1. O site da CARBONEXT é uma plataforma que consiste na intermediação de transações, oferecendo de forma segura para que pessoas físicas ou jurídicas apurem a quantidade de CO2 emitido por ano, criem uma conta e uma assinatura para neutralizar essas emissões, adquirindo créditos de carbono de entidades profissionais que buscam preservar a natureza e receba informações e notícias sobre o mercado de créditos de carbono.

1.2. Ao utilizar o serviço de recebimento de e-mail de newsletter da CARBONEXT, o usuário está se comprometendo com os seguintes termos e condições indicados abaixo, estando também sujeito a política antispam. A aceitação deste termo é obrigatória para qualquer pessoa física ou jurídica, doravante denominada “USUÁRIO”, que pretenda utilizar os serviços prestado pela CARBONEXT, doravante denominado “SERVIÇO”, bem como de todas as demais políticas e princípios que o regem. 

1.3. A CARBONEXT reserva-se o direito de atualizar e alterar os Termos e Condições de tempos em tempos, qualquer recurso que aumente ou melhore o serviço atual, incluindo o lançamento de novas ferramentas e recursos, estarão sujeitas aos Termos de Uso.

## REGRAS DE USO

2.1. Através da autorização de recebimento de newsletter da CARBONEXT, o USUÁRIO passará a receber via e-mail boletim de notícias contendo informações selecionadas sobre o mercado de crédito de carbono aplicadas ao USUÁRIO.
 
2.2. A partir do consentimento fornecido pelo USUÁRIO para o recebimento das newsletter, a CARBONEXT tratará os dados pessoais fornecidos no momento do cadastro inserindo o USUÁRIO em uma lista exclusiva para envio das notícias e atualizações, sem qualquer custo financeiro.

2.3. Ao preencher o cadastro, o USUÁRIO deverá informar uma conta de e-mail válida para o recebimento dos informativos.

2.4. O envio de Newsletter apenas será disponibilizado ao USUÁRIO mediante o prévio e expresso consentimento e tem como finalidade facilitar o recebimento de notícias e atividades realizadas pela CARBONEXT, permitir a fácil divulgação dos seus projetos, conquistas e realizar um contato mais próximo e atualizado com o USUÁRIO.

## LIMITE DE RESPONSABILIDADE

3.1. A CARBONEXT não se responsabiliza perante terceiros pela conduta de qualquer USUÁRIO da plataforma online e off-line.

3.2. A CARBONEXT não se responsabiliza por quaisquer problemas ou anomalias relacionadas à hardware e software causados por problemas técnicos na internet, no local de acesso, no desconhecimento para operação da plataforma ou, ainda, resultante da interferência indevida de terceiros. Nesse sentido, a CARBONEXT não se responsabiliza por quaisquer danos ou prejuízos eventualmente causados a usuários ou terceiros.

3.3. A CARBONEXT não garante que os serviços, funcionalidades, conteúdos, aplicações e demais elementos da plataforma atenderão as necessidades, expectativas e demandas do USUÁRIO, estando a sua responsabilidade limitada à disponibilização do serviço e conteúdo em circunstâncias suficientes para a fruição.

3.4. A CARBONEXT não será responsável pelo pagamento de danos indiretos, consequentes ou emergentes, bem como, mas sem se limitar a lucros cessantes, vendas ou receitas.

## LGPD E CONFIDENCIALIDADE

4.1. Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados Pessoais: As Partes comprometem-se a cumprir integralmente os requisitos da presente Cláusula e da legislação de privacidade e de proteção de dados aplicável no Brasil, incluindo, mas não se limitando à Lei 13.709/2018 (“LGPD”).

4.2. O USUÁRIO, na posição de titular dos dados pessoais cadastrados, reconhece, que forneceu à CARBONEXT consentimento livre, expresso e informado para o tratamento de seus Dados Pessoais visando o recebimento de newsletter pelo site da CARBONEXT.

4.3. A CARBONEXT considera todas as informações fornecidas pelo titular, sobretudo seus dados pessoais, confidenciais, garantindo que serão tratadas e armazenadas conforme as determinações da Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (“Lei nº 13.709/2018”).

4.4. O USUÁRIO se declara ciente de que a CARBONEXT poderá compartilhar os dados pessoais coletados e informados com terceiros, nas seguintes situações: (i) com outras empresas de auditoria para fins de auditoria legal; (ii) para proteger seus interesses em qualquer conflito, incluindo demandas judiciais; (iii) mediante ordem judicial ou por requerimento de autoridades administrativas que detenham competência legal para sua requisição.

4.5. Os dados pessoais coletados pela CARBONEXT serão armazenados em servidores próprios ou por ela contratados, sendo adotados os esforços exigidos pela Lei nº 13.709/2018 para garantir a segurança de seus sistemas na guarda de tais dados pessoais.

4.4. O USUÁRIO poderá requerer a qualquer momento a exclusão de seus dados pessoais coletados pela CARBONEXT. Esta empreenderá os melhores esforços para atender a todos os pedidos de exclusão no menor tempo possível, ressaltando, contudo, que a depender do caso concreto poderá ser necessário manter os dados pessoais armazenados por finalidade específica e de acordo com base legal prevista na Lei nº 13.709/2018, situação em que o titular será devidamente informado. O pedido de exclusão dos dados pessoais implicará no cancelamento do termo, caso este ainda esteja vigente. 

4.5. Ao aceitar os termos do presente contrato, o USUÁRIO manifesta seu consentimento livre, expresso e informado com relação aos mecanismos de guarda, armazenamento e demais formas de tratamento dos dados pessoais coletadas pela CARBONEXT, conforme aplicável de acordo com a Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (Lei nº 13.709/2018).

4.6. Como usuário da Plataforma, o USUÁRIO e caso seja pessoa jurídica, seus colaboradores, representantes e parceiros terão que manter estrita confidencialidade a respeito de todas as instruções, determinações e informações que vier a receber ou ter acesso em razão da relação com a CARBONEXT. A obrigação de confidencialidade persistirá mesmo após o término da assinatura. Se essa obrigação for descumprida, você deverá indenizar todos os danos patrimoniais e extrapatrimoniais causados à CARBONEXT.

## DISPOSIÇÕES GERAIS

5.1.  Ao aceitar os “T&Cs” o USUÁRIO está de acordo em receber toda comunicação enviada pela CARBONEXT aos usuários, tais como informações sobre a conta, ofertas, promoções e pesquisas de mercado, inclusive pelo e-mail cadastrado ou qualquer outro tipo de comunicação estabelecida no cadastro ou dentro da plataforma, de acordo com as condições estabelecidas na Política de Privacidade.

5.2. Ao se cadastrar na Plataforma, o USUÁRIO também concorda que quaisquer avisos, contratos, divulgações ou outras comunicações que lhe forem enviadas pela CARBONEXT eletronicamente, satisfazem os requisitos legais de comunicação.

5.3. A CARBONEXT reserva para si o direito de alterar, suspender, cancelar, encerrar ou modificar, a qualquer tempo, no todo ou em parte, em caráter temporário ou definitivo, características, itens, funcionalidades, utilidades de aplicação, produtos, conteúdos e/ou formas de acesso oferecidas aos usuários da Plataforma.

5.4. A CARBONEXT, sempre que possível, mas não obrigatoriamente, desde que dentro da legislação aplicável, informará ao USUÁRIO sobre mudanças neste Termo e nas condições aqui previstas e em sua Política de Privacidade.  As versões mais atualizadas estarão disponíveis no Website da CARBONEXT e poderá ser requerido ao USUÁRIO que aceite novamente e eletronicamente os novos termos e condições. As alterações a este Termo de Aceite que importem em ônus financeiro serão feitas mediante comunicação prévia, com pelo menos 30 (trinta) dias de antecedência.

5.5. O USUÁRIO deverá ter 18 (dezoito) anos ou ser capaz civilmente, ou estar de posse de autorização legal dos pais ou de tutores, e plenamente capaz de consentir com os termos, condições, obrigações, afirmações, representações e garantias descritas neste Termo de Aceite e documentos incorporados.

## PROPRIEDADE INTELECTUAL

6.1. A plataforma, incluindo todos os itens do conteúdo está protegida por direitos autorais, segredos comerciais, marcas, registro de software e outras leis e tratados de propriedade intelectual.

6.2. A CARBONEXT é a proprietária ou licenciada de todo o conteúdo, bem como é respectivamente titular ou licenciada de todos os direitos relacionados aos serviços da plataforma são protegidos pela legislação de direitos autorais e outros direitos de propriedade intelectual. Neste sentido, e conforme descrito acima, o USUÁRIO não poderá:

- reproduzir, copiar, utilizar, executar, criar trabalhos derivados, republicar, fazer upload, editar, enviar, alterar, transmitir ou distribuir, por qualquer meio que seja, quaisquer partes da plataforma, marcas, materiais, entre outros, de titularidade da CARBONEXT, sem a autorização prévia por escrito desta;
- remover ou alterar avisos de propriedade intelectual contidos em ou fornecidos por meio da plataforma.

## DISPOSIÇÕES FINAIS

7.1. Este Termo será regido e interpretado de acordo com a legislação do Brasil.

7.2. As Partes elegem o Foro da Comarca de São Paulo/SP, como o único competente para dirimir quaisquer pleitos oriundos do presente Contrato, com expressa e irretratável renúncia a qualquer outro, por mais privilegiado que seja ou venha a sê-lo.

7.3. Se qualquer disposição ou disposições deste Termo de uso forem consideradas inválidas, ilegais ou não aplicáveis, a validade, legalidade e aplicabilidade das demais disposições devem permanecer em pleno vigor.

7.4. A renúncia a qualquer termo deste Termo de Aceite não será considerada renúncia adicional ou contínua a esse ou a qualquer outro termo, e a omissão por parte da CARBONEXT quanto a qualquer direito ou cláusula de acordo com este Termo não constituirá renúncia ou novação a tal direito ou cláusula.

7.5. E, por estarem justas e contratadas, as Partes através de seus representantes legais, assinam o presente Acordo digitalmente. O aceite dado pelo USUÁRIO aos temos do presente instrumento valerá como assinatura.

A survey released this week turned the scenario into numbers. 

In the first eight months of this year, the value traded on the voluntary carbon markets has already grown 60% over 2020 as a whole and is expected to surpass the $1 billion barrier by 2021, setting a record amid growing corporate demand to meet decarbonization targets. 

The data is from the Ecosystem Marketplace, an initiative of Forest Trends, which compiles information reported by leading developers and sellers of carbon projects around the world - and is considered the most reliable source for tracking price and volume trends in a market where transactions have little transparency."

"Companies that emit harmful gases into the atmosphere can offset their pollution by acquiring green bonds, thus generating carbon credits. This negotiation is done in the so-called carbon market. The money used in this exchange goes to the conservation of public or private forests.

The excess of harmful gases in the atmosphere is one of the causes of global warming. Growing plants remove carbon from the atmosphere, thus reducing the impact of industries, agriculture, cars, and households."
