"With the arrival of the long-awaited COP26, the 195 countries that are signatories to the Paris Agreement, signed in 2015 at COP21, will have the opportunity to create a robust carbon market when they meet for the climate negotiations in Glasgow, UK.

These will require nations to reach a consensus concerning Article 6 of the Paris Agreementwhich ensures that these countries can trade carbon credits with each other to secure their greenhouse gas emission reductions through the sale of surplus emission credits if they have already met their commitments."
